Meg & Rolin

Meg-I had so much fun chatting with you via both Skype and cell phone to hear how your happily Ever After with Rolin began. I have been collecting inspired ideas over the last two weeks based on our initial conversation, and created a customized virtual vision board for you. Each element reflects different ways  for you to tell your story through personal touches and experiences. I hope you are as inspired as I am! -xoxo, Shereen

Digital Wedding Guest Book:
So much of your relationship with Rolin has taken place through texts and emails, that I really wanted to find a fun and unique way to incorporate technology into your wedding; specifically I wanted guests to be able to text messages, pictures and videos during your wedding to a custom phone number where those messages could be collected and later assembled in a display of some kind.  Would you believe I found a company that does exactly that! The service is only currently available in the UK, but will be up and running in the US by early July.

"Guests add their own contributions on the wedding day using a combination of multimedia messaging or email messaging from their mobile phones. And for up to 2 weeks after the wedding using email/mobile messaging. Family and friends may send text messages with their thoughts and best wishes, capture images using camera phones and digital cameras and record short video and audio messages on multimedia phones with personal messages of congratulations."

 Fingerprint Tree Guest Book:
In continuing the theme of finding unique, personal and interactive experiences I found these fingerprint tree guest books. This would go well with your rustic, ranch style venue while still creating romance and whimsy. You can find a wide variety of them from different vendors on www.etsy.com. I haven't seen them at a wedding yet-so I think the wow factor would be high! All of the elements including names, dates, ink colors, fonts can be customized to match your wedding palette.

Atlas Heart Garland and Atlas Pinwheels
A big part of your love story is how much of your time together as a couple has actually been spent apart. I wanted to  incorporate travel and love in eclectic, fun and stylish ways. The heart garland is adorable, romantic and fun! I'd could see several being being strung from a tree or doorway and used as a backdrop for photos!

I especially fell in love with the pinwheels and thought they could be used in a variety of ways. Perhaps you could put one at each place setting and write out a favorite quote or text on each one as a conversation starter ("forever","move the ring over", "bye", "are you for real" etc) Or maybe you could write the name and table number of each guest on them and use them for escort cards. Taking that idea a bit further, perhaps you could use them as escort cards, but instead of having them at a table, create a path with them by sticking them in the ground alphabetically in a line or curve that would lead guests to the reception.
A twist on the traditional chair signage-maybe you could have ones that say Sugar Mama and Sugar Daddy instead?

I think it would also be great to do something fun when it comes to your seating. One idea was to use the pinwheels shown above as escort cards pairing that with tables named after cities you have visited or seat numbers you sat on during your many plane rides (United 8F, Hawaiian 26D etc).

I also like the idea of incorporating how you met into this aspect of the wedding. You met in a physics class, so you could play on 'law of attraction' or the 'periodic table'. You could name the tables after classes you took, textbooks you had to buy or the names of favorite teachers. So many ways to go with this, let your mind wander!

This periodic table can be custom made with all the guests initials and their assigned seating!

I've seen a lot of great "photo booths" on the island, but all of them are the kind you would see at the mall. While they might be a great fit for some weddings I am working with two companies here on the island to create a Chic Wedding Photo Booth with  customizable backdrops and props to create a more eclectic and upscale look. The photo company I am working with not only provides prints for your guests to take home, but lighting to make them look great as well as a real life photographer to make sure the guests get shots they love!

The design company I am working with is creating custom wedding props and backdrops. What about a chalkboard backdrop with equations written on it, or an oversize map with an "X" on Hawaii and Massachusetts? Maybe wooden letters in your initials painted in your wedding colors. Of course there's plenty of UH Football gear to include as well! Just a few ideas to get the juices flowing.
